February 25, 2012SCM Sintex XL four sided planer
Business is very good at the moment with lots of orders and a full diary, so in order to make the workshop more efficient we have purchased a 4 sided planer.
Should be delivered and installed in a few weeks, this machine planes rough sawn timber down to size, planing all four sides simultaneously.
It should speed up the process of making door rails, frame work and drawer box sides.
Here is a video of one in action
February 18, 2012Ultimate appliances (Sub Zero and Wolf)
Do you want the ultimate appliances?
How much would you pay for a fridge?
Occasionally we install sub zero appliances ….. the ultimate kitchen fridge in my opinion …. but are they worth it?
How much would you expect to pay for a large American fridge
This particular model retails for £12500, however if you want to have chilled wine you need to add the wine cooler to get this
This brings the total to £21250 excluding delivery and installation.
Now you need to have a Range cooker to match the fridges, why not go for a large Wolf range.
Maybe this one
This Wolf range is £13600.
Bringing the grand total to £34850
of course I could go on, the ultimate kitchen still needs a dishwasher, microwave /combi oven, steam oven, etc etc.
Needless to say customers who buy the above appliances are few and far between but they do look spectacular.
January 29, 2012New planer / Thicknesser
Negotiating on a new planer / thicknesser for sizing sawn timber at the moment, still need to confirm exact model details but all being well it should be delivered next month.
The model is a SCM Fs520, not cheap about £12000 but it should be a good asset for the business, plus we will be able to sell on the old machine for a good price all being well

January 16, 2012Shaker painted and oak kitchen

It’s the second kitchen we have made for them, lovely clients to work with and they have recommended us to all their friends which has been an added bonus.

Most of our work now comes from recommendations, usually Michael or myself are on site most days during the fitting to ensure all runs smoothly, most kitchens are installed within 2 weeks including granite and appliances so disruption is a minimum.

We think our kitchens are great but the customer service is just as much a priority, we make sure we get both right and as a result the recommendations keep coming.

January 16, 2012Boot room furniture
One of our clients wanted a room furnished for coats and muddy shoes, a boot room.
Here is what we came up with, the furniture was mirrored on the opposite wall as well, except the pigeon holes were made larger to take wellington boots.

Oak baseline, which will withstand a bit of wear and tear from boots and also standing water, shaker style pegs for coats (kids and adults) and top boxes for gloves and hats.
January 2, 2012Painted wardrobe
Here is a simple painted wardrobe, completed just prior to Christmas.
The wardrobe has a central breakfront using quadrant posts, this allows for greater depth in the central wardrobe to ensure hanging clothes are not pinched in the doors when closing.
The 2 side wardrobes have internal shelving within them.
We also made two matching bedside cabinets

December 21, 2011Painted and walnut flat panel kitchen
This is our latest kitchen.
Painted and walnut kitchen, aluminium trim, with composite stone worktops.
The cabinets are all drawers where possible with an additional internal drawer, so 2 drawers or more per cabinet.
The breakfast bar is 60mm thick double ply veneer walnut.
The hob run has a floating appearance to give a more “open” feeling to the kitchen, the units are supported bu a steel frame hidden behind the cabinets.
